Pascual Escobar Gaspar has grown coffee since he was 18, first learning the work from his father in Concepción Huista. His organic plots on Finca Q´ejnha were planted in 1988 and sit at 1,750 meters in Guatemala’s Huista region. There he grows Caturra, Anacafé 14, Bourbon and Pache Verde, alongside avocados and staple crops for his family. Pascual has trained in wet processing and organic practices. The co-op also gave him a rainwater collection system and his own pulper, which help him produce uniform, high-quality specialty coffee. The coffee is washed and harvested January through April.
